About Lee
I’m Lee Walls, a Scottish wild swimmer who didn’t grow up loving open water at all. I nearly drowned when I was little, so getting into the sea wasn’t exactly my natural habitat. Then lockdown rolled in, my husband bought a kayak, and I decided it was time to stop dodging the water. The kayak was abandoned, I got in instead, and that was that.
Wild swimming became the place I cleared my head, breathed a bit deeper and came up with ideas that somehow turned into real things. But there was always the same snag. The swim was glorious, the change afterwards not so much. Hopping about on one foot in muddy carparks, trying not to flash my bum at passing dog walkers and shoving wet kit into bags that leaked, ripped or couldn’t handle the sheer volume of stuff. I knew I couldn’t be the only one.
SoI built something for all of us.
The Story of the Bag
Wild Changer started with one simple idea: make getting changed outdoors easier and a whole lot warmer. Wild swimmers are hardy folk but getting changed outdoors shouldn’t be a battle. After two years of searching for a bag that didn’t exist, I decided to make my own. And I didn’t do it alone. For six months I worked with a brilliant community of swimmers who told me exactly what was missing.
Lee, we need a wee pocket for earrings.
Where do the shoes go?
This mat needs to stop my toes freezing.
Every tiny detail was shaped by real people who swim in real conditions.
The Wild Changer is waterproof, insulated and designed to change how we change outdoors. It’s big enough to hold all your gear, including a changing robe, and tough enough to handle Scottish weather. Inside, you’ll find proper organisation; a pocket for jewellery, a hidden one for keys, space for shoes, an insulated drinks holder, and a removable towel section that comes off for washing. The padded mat doubles as a seat for a post-swim cuppa and saves your feet from the cold, jaggy stones underfoot.
Testers have said it has more features than a Swiss army knife, practical, clever and full of surprises. The bright red version is bold enough to act as a landmark while you’re in the water, and there’s a sleek black version for those who prefer to blend in.
The Wild Changer was created for swimmers, by swimmers. Built in community. Tested in Scottish lochs. Designed to make your outdoor changing warm, simple, organised and a lot less awkward.
Because the swim is the easy bit. It’s everything after that needed fixing.
